Meet Our Vets

Dr Ben Ajilian

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Msc, NVE

Hello! My name is Behzad (Ben) Ajilian. I have been practicing companion animal medicine and surgery since graduating in 2003.
My special interests are small animal surgery, emergency medicine and to some stage small mammals and birds medicine and surgery. I enjoy all aspects of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, but have greater interest in surgery especially orthopaedics.

Previously I have worked at the University of Adelaide, Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS), the Animal Welfare League of SA, Vets4Pets small animal hospital and Ingleburn veterinary hospital and emergency centre, Ryde Vet clinic and Animal Referral Hospital (ARH)

I have strong belief in continuous professional development, which I think is essential to keep up with new developments and offer a good service to clients.

Further education:

  • 2012: 12 months postgraduate study in small animal surgery- Centre of Veterinary Education (CVE), University of Sydney.
  • 2014: Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) and Stifle Surgery worksop-VetPrac
  • 2015: Postgraduate study in small animal radiology-CVE
  • 2015: Postgraduate study in small animal cardiology (ECG)-CVE
  • 2016: Advances in TTA Technique Workshop-VetPrac
  • 2017: Forelimb Joint surgery workshop-Vetprac
  • 2018: Perineal and abdominal surgery workshop-VetPrac 

Currently I am the director and co-founder of Australian Veterinary Corporation-AVC.

AVC has two Hospitals ( Harbourside vet hospital and StMary's Vet hospital) and a mobile clinic called VetOnTheRun.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family, cycling and swimming.

Dr Tiffany Tung

Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours Class 1) 

 Tiffany graduated from Sydney university in 2013. She has worked in some Sydney well known general practices and emergency hospitals.

Tiffany curenty works on Saturdays at HVH.

She has a particularly strong interest in exotic small mammal medicine and small animal behaviour. To foster these interests she has visited several specialised exotic hospitals in Sydney and Melbourne and attended several conferences through the CVE on both these areas.

Dr Caitlin de Wit

Bachelor of Applied Science (Equine Studies)  

I  graduated from University of Sydney school of veterinary science in 2014. I have worked as small animal practitioner for past four years and enjoy all aspect of veterinary science.

Special Achievements

  • Being awarded the University of Sydney Sporting scholarship throughout the duration of my degree.
  • Being nominated for the New South Wales Institute of Sport, University of Sydney Academic Excellence Award
  • Representing Australia in wheelchair basketball at the 2013 Australian Oceania World Championship Qualifying tournament
  • Representing Australia in the Under 25 Women’s World Wheelchair Basketball Championships
  • Receiving the Deans Award for Academic Excellence when studying at Charles Sturt University

Hi I'm a Sydney University graduate with special interests in preventative medicine and behaviour. I love happy healthy pets and try to make vet visits enjoyable for them.
I have two cats and a dog who all try to train me to 'feed more treats' and enjoy mountain biking in my spare time.

Anaheld Ajilian  B.Eng, MSc, MBA

AVC Director- Practice Manager

Anaheld has extensive background in business management and development. She is an industrial engineer but has special interest in business and accounting. She is a business partner and director of AVC.

Zoe Wright

Senior Veterinary Nurse- Cert IV

 Zoe has been a vet nurse for almost 3 years and has completed her certificate IV of vet nursing. Her favourite part of vet nursing is surgery and seeing when sick animals get better.

When she is not at work, she is at home looking after her fur childeren- her 8yr old dog "Rocky" and very cranky cat who she rescued, "Pepper"

Savannah Van Der Dray 

Veterinary Nurse- Cert IV

Savannah Joined our team at SMVH in 2016 towards the end of her studies and is now a qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse. Her special interests are surgical and anaesthetic safety. She finds it rewarding when her sick patients are sent home to their thankful parents. At home she has two adorable rescue kittens


Tara Olfat

Veterinary Nurse

Tara is currently studying animal science and wants to become a vet.

She has passion for animal and has decided to work as a veterinary nurse  until becomes an animal doctor.

She will welcome you and your pet at reception and help the veterinary team to provide the best care to our patients.
