Dr Behzad Benjamin Ajilian

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), MSc, NVE

Dr. Ben is a distinguished veterinary professional with a strong commitment to the field of companion animal medicine and surgery. Having graduated in 2003, Dr. Ajilian brings over two decades of experience to the veterinary community.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ajilian has showcased an unwavering dedication to continuous improvement and learning. He has focused on small animal surgery, emergency medicine, and has exhibited a keen interest in small mammal and avian medicine. Dr. Ajilian's expertise spans various aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, with a notable emphasis on orthopedic procedures.

Dr. Ajilian has made significant contributions to reputable institutions such as the University of Adelaide, Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science (IMVS), the Animal Welfare League of SA, Vets4Pets small animal hospital, Ingleburn veterinary hospital and emergency center, Ryde Veterinary clinic, and the renowned Animal Referral Hospital (ARH).

His strong belief in the importance of ongoing professional development is evident through his extensive postgraduate studies and certifications. Dr. Ajilian's pursuit of knowledge has led him to undertake specialized training in small animal surgery, radiology, cardiology, advanced sonography, and various surgical techniques including Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) and Tibial Plateau Osteotomy (TPLO).

Dr. Ajilian's impactful contributions extend beyond his clinical expertise. As the director and co-founder of the Australian Veterinary Corporation (AVC), he oversees the operations of Harbourside Vet Hospital, St Marys Vet Hospital, and VetOnTheRun, a mobile clinic. A graduate of Sydney University in 2013, Tiffany's dedication to her craft has flourished through her experiences in renowned general practices and emergency hospitals across Sydney.

Currently contributing her talents on Saturdays at HVH, Tiffany brings a unique and invaluable perspective to our team. Her passion for animals is evident in every aspect of her work, from her thorough medical assessments to her empathetic patient care.

Tiffany's professional interests have naturally gravitated toward exotic small mammal medicine and small animal behavior. Her dedication to these specialized areas is truly exceptional. To nurture her passions, she has undertaken extensive efforts, including visits to specialized exotic hospitals in both Sydney and Melbourne. Additionally, she has enriched her knowledge by actively participating in conferences organized by the CVE, delving into the intricacies of exotic medicine and small animal behavior.

Tiffany's commitment to excellence extends beyond her veterinary pursuits. She is a proud member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, having earned her membership through examination in the Epidemiology Chapter. This esteemed accomplishment is a testament to her commitment to staying at the forefront of her field and providing the highest level of care.

Moreover, Tiffany is currently dedicated to further advancing her expertise by pursuing a PhD degree. Her pursuit of higher education underscores her commitment to continuous learning and the advancement of veterinary knowledge.

Dr Darlene Lam

Dr James Le 

Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)

Senior Veterinarian and Hospital superintendent at St Marys Vet Hospital.

James is a valuable addition to the AVC team, having successfully completed his studies in 2017. His professional journey led him to Tasmania, where he gained valuable experience at the Launceston Veterinary Hospital, working with a diverse range of animals, each with its unique characteristics and needs. Now back in Sydney, he aspires to further his expertise in the realms of internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.

With a strong passion for animal care, James brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. His commitment to delivering exceptional veterinary services is evident through his dedicated care for our patients at St. Marys Hospital. Additionally, his periodic visits to Harbourside Vet further showcase his dedication to the well-being of our furry companions.

Beyond his professional endeavors, James has a rich personal life. A proud pet parent to a lovely tortoiseshell cat named Ash, he understands the joys and responsibilities of nurturing a cherished companion. When not tending to his veterinary duties, James finds solace in pursuits such as powerlifting, hiking, and indulging in a good book.

James is not only dedicated to his current role but is also actively pursuing further education in the field of small animal medicine. He demonstrates a strong eagerness to expand his knowledge, particularly in the realm of pain management, with a special focus on geriatric patients. His commitment to ensuring the comfort and well-being of all our patients is truly commendable.

James's expertise extends to the specialized technique of ultrasound-guided pain relief injections. His proficiency in this advanced method allows for precise and targeted pain management, enhancing the recovery process for our patients. Dr Chelsi Kuebler 

Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)

Dr Chelsi is a 2019 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine graduate from the University of Sydney. She is originally from Minnesota where she graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Animal Science (Pre-Veterinary Emphasis) and a Minor in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology. During her final year of her Bachelor's degree she studied abroad at James Cook University in Townsville and fell in love with Australia and our culture. Once she got the email that she had been accepted into USyd's DVM program, the decision was made for her. She has spent the last 8 years in Australia and was granted citizenship in June 2023. 

Since graduating Dr Chelsi has worked in small and mixed practices as well as a temporary position in the government sector. Although she misses working with sheep, she thoroughly enjoys working with dogs, cats, pocket pets, and the occasional wildlife. She has special interests in soft tissue surgery, parasitology, and cytology. This year she has signed up for courses focusing on neurology and nutrition to be able to better care for her patients. 
Dr Chelsi has 2 pets with her fiancé, who serves in the Navy. They have a blonde Kelpie-cross named Ahsoka and a charcoal tabby Domestic Shorthair named Binx. Ahsoka is named after her fiancé's favourite female Star Wars character and Binx is named after the black cat from one of Dr Chelsi's favourite childhood movies, Hocus Pocus. In her spare time Dr Chelsi loves spending time with her pets and her fiancé, playing Pokemon Go, admiring Halloween decorations (year-round), taking care of her plants, keeping fit, and watching anything from Star Wars or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She also loves exploring Sydney and finding new restaurants to eat at.
Dr Chelsi is very excited to be at Harbourside Vet and promises to do the best she can to ensure the health and well-being of your fur-babies!
